Remember Your Journey!

Its a new month again and I'd like you to think back to the beginning of the year, when we sang joyous songs, threw fireworks in the air, and hugged family and friends in joy as we wished each other a happy new year. Yes! do you remember the silent promises and resolutions you made in your heart, or the promises you might have made physical with ink and paper?

Do you remember how you looked in anticipation at the year, hope and expectation at the thought of a brand new chance at life, to right all the wrongs, to go the extra mile, gain new experience and do what you couldn't do the previous years? Do you remember how you thanked God for bringing you and your loved ones through, thanking him for another year and promising him to be a better person than you were in the past years?

Or maybe you didn't do all these, maybe you didn't even notice a new phase had begun, maybe it was just another regular time of the year to you. Nothing fun or exciting there right?

The fact still remains though, whether you saw it as a chance at a new life or just another regular changing of the seasons, you have expectations, you have goals and there's still a chance at achieving them, no matter how far off doing so may be. Every little effort put in to doing so brings you a little bit closer. As they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.

Always remember that a new month, other than what it is, should be to you a reminder that there are people counting on you, heights you are yet to reach, work to do and that your promises won't fulfill themselves.

If you're comfortable now, just ask yourself, are you closer to achieving the goals you'd set for yourself at the beginning of the year? Are you still true to your resolutions or plans, have you wavered or relapsed, giving way to old habits again?

I just want to remind you to keep pushing and working hard, not just for friends or family, bosses approval or peer pressure but for yourself. Strive to see yourself at the top of whatever it is you had planned or promised you'd do.

Before I leave you, here a few quotes for the new month:

“Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.” – Farrah Gray

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

“Nothing will work unless you do.” – Maya Angelou

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” – Benjamin Franklin

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

“It’s not the days in your life, but the life in your days that counts.” – Brian White

“The winners in life think constantly in terms of I can, I will, and I am. Losers, on the other hand, concentrate their waking thoughts on what they should have or would have done, or what they can’t do.” – Dennis Waitley

Stay safe and a happy new month to you all.
